Entry for October 28, 2006
With the coming of cool weather some of the guys around here gear up for mullet fishing. Basically, they sit out in their boats and wait to see some fish, then run circles around the school while dropping net. They've been catching 1500 to 2000 pounds per strike, but yesterday a team of two skiffs landed close to 5000 pounds. Catching them, however, is really the "easy" part of the operation. Each fish then had to be pulled through and freed from the net, which took three men from 3 in the afternoon until 8 o'clock last night.
